Boxing: Upon clearing suspension, Bute declared it most difficult battle of his career

The Romanian boxer, Lucian Bute, who safely passed over a six-month suspension for doping, said on his Instagram account that was 'most difficult' battle of his career.

"It was the hardest battle of my career, one that that left deep wounds. I have never looked for an unfair advantage over my adversaries and I am pleased that authorities in District of Columbia and WBC have dealt objectively with the problem and have characterized as negligence the use of a contaminated supplement," Bute wrote on the above mentioned social platform. "I will continue to fight for clean boxing and for the implementation of FDA regulations in the supplement industry so that such situations can be avoided," the boxer added, and he thanked for the support of his staff, his manager Chris Ganescu, coaches Howard and Otis Grant, the promoters Yvon Michel, Al Haymon, and lawyer Howard Jacobs.

"It is time to move forward after months of uncertainty and of struggling with the idea that I was accused of doping after the draw with Badou Jack for the world title WBC World (in the super middleweight category). I am pleased and relieved for the settlement I have reached this week with the Boxing Commission in Washington DC: I will make a 50,000 dollar donation to the WBC/WADA programme and I accept the retroactive six months suspension of my license, starting with 6 May 2016," Bute specified in the post.

The former world champion highlighted that he will continue his career and will step into the ring in the beginning of next year.

"I intend to continue my career and step back into the ring at the beginning of 2017. I have been overwhelmed by the love and support of my fans during this ordeal. Thank you all immensely," Lucian Bute further said.

Romanian boxer Lucian Bute, former super middleweight world champion, cleared suspension after the District of Columbia Boxing Commission accepted explanations for the positive test of April 20, after the draw match with Badou Jack, and can go back in the ring in 2017.

Bute tested positive for ostarine after the draw match with IBF champion Badou Jack of 20 April, but has always claimed his innocence. Osterine is not an anabolic steroid but has the same result as a strength and muscle mass enhancer.

Lucian Bute, 36, was super middleweight IBF world champion from 2007 to 2012, during which interval he defended his belt 9 times. His record contains 32 victories (25 KO), a draw match and three defeats in the professional category.
