The number of building permits went down 1.6 percent in the first nine months of 2016 compared with the similar period of last year, to 30,047, reads a press release the National Institute of Statistics (INS) sent to AGERPRES on Friday.
"In the period 1.I - 30.IX.2016 a number of 30,047 building permits were released for residential buildings, down 1.6 percent from the period 1.I - 30.IX.2015, reflected in the following development regions: South-East (-543 permits), Bucharest-Ilfov (-454 permits), South-Muntenia (-404 permits), North-East (-333) and South-West Oltenia (-37 permits). Increases in the number of building permits for residential buildings were registered in the following development regions:" North-West (+566 permits), West (+423) and Centre (+289)," the document reads.
In September 2016 a number of 4,061 permits were issued for residential buildings, up 2.3 percent from August 2016 and 15.9 percent from September 2015.
"In September 2016, a number of 4,061 permits were released for residential buildings, out of which 57.4 percent are for the rural area. In September 2016 compared with August 2016, there is an increase in the number of building permits released for residential buildings in the following development regions: Bucharest-Ilfov (+322), Centre (+33) and North-East (+7)," the INS informs.
Declines were registered in North-East (-109), South-Muntenia (-70), South-West Oltenia (-42), West (-28), and South-East (-22).
