President Klaus Iohannis on Wednesday welcomes Prince Charles at the Cotroceni Presidential Palace in Bucharest to award him the Grand Cross of the Star of Romania decoration. The Presidential Administration says talks between Iohannis and Charles will focus on the development and furthering of the strategic partnership between Romania and the UK, including security ties, the developments in the relationship between the two countries in relation with the UK leaving the European Union, with emphasis on the situation in the Romanian communities of the UK, as well as on Prince Charles's charitable actions in Romania.
Iohannis will bestow the Grand Cross of the Star of Romania on Prince Charles as a token of high esteem for his activity in Romania and for his promotion of Romania's image abroad, at an award ceremony at Cotroceni Palace. Prince Charles on Wednesday starts an official visit to Romania. This is his second official visit to Romania. The prince's tour will continue with visits to Italy and Austria. Iohannis has already welcomed Prince Charles twice at Cotroceni Palace - on May 31, 2015 and on May 29, 2016.
