Romania won eight medals in the 2017 STAG European Youth Championships in Guimaraes, Portugal, one gold, two silver, and five bronze.
The only gold medal was won by junior Cristian Pletea in the junior boys' doubles event.
The silver medals went to the junior girls team (Adina Diaconu, Andreea Dragoman, Tania Plaian, Mihaela Plaeasu), trained by Petre Arnautu and to Cristi Pletea, in the junior boys' singles event.
Winning the bronze medals were the junior boys team (Cristi Pletea, Rares Sipos, Florin Spelbus, Dragos Oprea), trained by Madalin Ionascu; Rares Sipos, in the junior boys' singles; Cristian Pletea and Adina Diaconu in the junior mixed doubles; Adina Diaconu in the junior girls' singles event and Elena Zaharia in the cadet girls' singles.
