Three Kosovars were caught by the border policemen of the Moravita Border Police Sector while they were trying to illegally enter Romania on foot.
"During the night of 30.11.2016, border policemen of the Moravita Border Police Sector together with gendarmes of the Timisoara Mobile Gendarme Group and policemen of Precinct 8 Deta have conducted an action for prevention of illegal migration and transborder crime that resulted in the interception and detainment of three persons near the border with the neighboring country, the persons being led to the Moravita Border Police headquarters for further investigation," a release of the Timisoara Border Police remitted on Thursday to agerpres shows.
Following checks, it was determined that the three men are from Kosovo and are aged 20 to 24 years old. They stated that they intended to reach Western European countries and have crossed the border on foot, from Serbia, the source mentions.
The case is being investigated under suspicion of fraudulent crossing of the state border, with the three men to be surrendered to an operative team of the Timis County Immigration Service, all legal measures imposed being conducted.
