Save Romania Union spokesperson Dan Barna stated on Wednesday that Finance Minister Ionut Misa's statement on salaries in the private business milieu "is an economic aberration." "The statement that private companies should automatically raise salaries upon the minister's recommendation is an economic aberration. We know all too well that things don't actually function that way and it is possible that salaries, in fact the lowest salaries, be diminished. (...) This maneuver carries on the fight that PSD [Social Democratic Party - major at rule - ed.n.] has launched against the economic milieu," Barna told a press conference at Parliament Palace.
According to the USR parliamentarian, transferring the contributions from employer to employee, actually conceals the fact that the salaries will only increase on paper. "Shifting contributions from employer to employee is an issue that in fact hides PSD's lie on the salaries' increase. In reality we are only talking about an increase on paper of 23 percent through this shift. PSD doesn't know how to hide the fact that it doesn't have the resources to raise salaries according to the uniform pay law and through this gimmick, it is trying to confuse the population," the USR spokesperson further maintained.
