AEP: By Saturday at 12:00, over 300,000 voters in diaspora had gone to the polls

Over 300,000 voters went to the polls in the diaspora, by Saturday at 12:00 (Romanian time), to vote in the second round of the presidential elections, according to data provided in real time by the Permanent Electoral Authority.

According to AEP, from the opening of the polls, namely on Thursday, 10:00 PM (Romanian time), until Saturday at 12:00 PM, over 300,000 Romanian citizens went to the polls.

Also, 3,139 voters voted by mail.

The most Romanian voters voted in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland - 46,466, Italy - 44,968, Germany - 42,763, the Republic of Moldova - 42,574, Spain - 32,045 and France - 14,071.

The data is presented in real time on the website prezenta.roaep.ro.

In the 965 polling stations in the diaspora organized for this year's presidential elections, Romanian citizens who are abroad on election day can vote, regardless of whether or not they have their domicile or residence outside the country.

According to the AEP, in the first round of the presidential elections, from the opening of the polls until May 3, at 12:00, 157,404 Romanian citizens had voted.
