The Romanian soccer team Astra Giurgiu was assigned in Group E of the Europa League, next to Viktoria Plzen (Czech Republic), AS Roma (Italy) and Austria Vienna (Austria), according to the Friday draw.
Romania's champion Astra has qualified to the Europa League groups after defeating the English West Ham United in the play-off, 2-1. The Giurgiu team had been eliminated by FC Copenhagen (overall score 1-4) in 3rd preliminary round of the Champions League.
The matches of the groups' first stage are scheduled on 15 September. The next stages will take place on 29 September, 20 October, 3 November, 24 November and 8 December.
The top two teams qualify in the final sixteenth.
