Prime Minister Dacian Ciolos said Wednesday that he is aware of the fact that some ministers in his Cabinet want to run in the upcoming general elections, adding that in order to do so they will have to leave the Cabinet.

"I know there are ministers considering it. So far as I know, no decisions have been made yet. Anyhow, I have told them very clearly, I even did so publicly, that personally I believe it is a good thing for people with governmental experience to get politically involved, but when they do it, they will have to leave the Cabinet," Ciolos told journalists at the headquarters of Romania's Permanent Mission to the UN.

Minister for European Funds Cristian Ghinea said Wednesday that some members of the Ciolos Cabinet made up of non-affiliated ministers could decide whether or not to pull out of the Government in the next two-three weeks to join the Save Romania Union (USR).

'This is no easy decision to make, beaks we are all in a kind of fervor regarding the good decisions we can still make. So a final decision should be made in two-three weeks' time, after which we calm down," Ghinea told RFI private radio broadcaster, according to Agerpres.
