Romania exports footwear worth 1.11 billion lei in first 10 months of 2016

Romania exported, in the first ten months of 2016, footwear worth 1.113 billion lei (rd EUR 246 million), an amount 1.3 pct lower as compared to the similar period of 2015, according to data centralized by the National Institute of Statistics (INS).

Footwear imports amounted to 649.3 million euro, 15.2 pct higher against those from January to October 2015, thus registering a surplus of 464.4 million euro on this segment.

According to the Department of Foreign Trade, the total value of Romania's international trade in the first 10 months of 2016 exceeded 103.43 billion euro, up by 5.3 pct over the first ten months of 2015, the exports registered an increase to 47.767 billion euro (+ 4.1 pct) and an increase in imports of 55.67 billion euro (+ 6.4 pct).

In these conditions, Romania's trade balance deficit grew by 23.2 pct, from the level of -6.414 billion euro (31 October 2015) to -7.904 billion euro (31 October 2016).
