Halep and Rosolska through to doubles quarterfinals in Stuttgart

The paring made-up of Romanian tennis player Simona Halep and Polish Alicja Rosolska qualified on Tuesday for the quarterfinals of women's doubles of the WTA tournament in Stuttgart, with prizes worth 710,900 US dollars, after defeating the second seeds Andreja Klepac (Slovenia)/Maria Jose Martinez Sanchez (Spain), with a score of 6-0, 2-6, 10-8.

After each pairing clearly gained one set, in the super tie-break the pairing made up of Klepac and Martinez Sanchez reached 6-1, then Halep and Rosolska incredibly came back, managing to score eight points consecutively. At a 9-6 score, Klepac/Martinez Sanchez scored two consecutive points, but Rosolska brought the victory point for her and Halep (10-8).

Halep and Rosolska managed to win in 64 minutes, following to play in the quarterfinals with the winner pair of the event between the Croatians Darija Jurak/Mirjana Lucic-Baroni and the couple made-up of Andrea Hlavackova (Czech)/Samantha Stosur (Australia).

On Wednesday Halep, seeded 4th in women's singles, will play in the round of sixteen against Barbora Strycova. Also on Wednesday, in the first round of doubles, Raluca Olaru and Ukrainian Olga Savciuk will face off the Ukrainian pair made-up of Liudmila Kicenok/Lesia Tsurenko.
