Romania`s Copil advances to Aegon Open Nottinham men`s doubles quarter-finals

Romanian-Ukrainian duo Marius Copil/ Sergiy Stakhovsky on Monday advanced to the quarter-finals of the men's doubles event at the 127,000-euro Aegon Open Nottingham challenger after defeating British pairing Scott Clayton/Jonny O'Mara 7-6 (3) 4-6 10-7.

The two prevailed in one hour and 25 minutes, securing 1,630 euros and 25 ATP doubles points for their performance so far.

Next, Copil- Stakhovsky will play the winner between Konstantin Kravchuk (Russia)/ Illya Marchenko (Ukraine) and third-seeded Marc Polmans/Andrew Whittington of Australia.

In the men's singles event, Copil, 26, ATP's 91st, is seeded second. He plays Russian Konstantin Kravchuk, 32, ATP's 115th, in the first round.
