A boat out to sea in the UK, containing 4 Romanians, has collided with another craft on the night between Saturday and Sunday, leaving one member of the group dead, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MAE) informed on Sunday, quoting information obtained from British authorities.

Another person is under medical care at a hospital in Worthing, being currently out of danger, while another two are missing, a press release remitted by MAE to stiripesurse mentions.

The Coastguard has ample searches underway in order to find the two other Romanian citizens.

Romania's consul with the Romanian Embassy in London has traveled urgently to the medical unit where the injured Romanian is admitted in order to find out additional details about his status. The diplomatic mission and the consular office maintain their attention on the case, as well as on the status of the searches for the two missing Romanians and are in contact with local authorities, being prepared to offer consular assistance and support, the release mentions.

MAE also relayed sincere condolences to the family of the Romanian citizen deceased following the naval accident.

British newspapers claim that two small vessels collided around 2 miles from the coast of the town Shoreham-by-Sea, one of them sinking. The latter craft had four persons on board.

A 45-year-old man was saved by fishermen, who found him clinging to a buoy. Another was initially saved by specialized crews, but later died from his injuries, while the other two are presently sought.

According to a witness on the scene, navigation conditions were poor and visibility low.
