The managing director of Romanian Center for Performing Artists Rights Management (CREDIDAM), Stefan Gheorghiu stated on Tuesday that the institution he is leading has allocated, during its 21-year activity, over 64 million euro to artists and almost 26 million euro to the state budget.

"2016, the benchmark year, shows a steady increase of the income distributed to artists. Here we have a 64 million amount paid out to artists from the beginning of our activity, we are talking about 2000, the reference year, and to the state budget almost 26 million euro. (...) The July 2017 allocation puts us on this ascending trend," Gheorghiu said.

CREDIDAM, which counts 14,000 members, features 37 bilateral agreements with similar institutions from all European countries, but also Turkey, the USA, Canada and Cyprus.
