Klaus Iohannis, Donald Tusk have meeting in New York

President Klaus Iohannis had a meeting on Tuesday with the President of the European Council Donald Tusk on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York. The Romanian president attended on Tuesday the opening of the UNGA 72 high-level segment with the US President Donald Trump having delivered a speech.

Iohannis is to have meetings also on Tuesday with the UNGA President Miroslav Lajcak and his counterparts from Estonia - Kersti Kaljulaid and Egypt - Abdel Fattah Al Sisi. Moreover, Klaus Iohannis is to participate in a luncheon hosted by the UN Secretary-General António Guterres in honour of the delegations' heads, then in the traditional meeting with the heads of the Jewish organisations in the United States and in the reception organised by the European Union in honour of the heads of the delegations with the EU and, together with his wife Carmen, in the traditional reception offered by Donald Trump in the honour of the delegations' heads.
