The National Energy Regulatory Authority (ANRE) has postponed the decision to increase the price of gas for household consumers until the approval by Parliament of Government Emergency Ordinance 64/2016, with the change to the end-price to take effect on November 1, ANRE Chairman Niculae Havrilet told Agerpres on Tuesday.

"We have postponed the decision on the gas price until the approval in Parliament of the Government Emergency Ordinance 64, as there will be changes that will have a major impact also on the end-price. The storage service will be deregulated and, at the same time, the mandatory trading exchange quotas for producers modified," Havrilet explained. Havrilet also said that he has received assurances that the ordinance will be adopted in Parliament this month, so that the ANRE can decide a new end-price for gas that will come into force on November 1 and which will also take into account the changes made by the ordinance.

A week ago, the ANRE Vice Chairman Emil Calota said that the gas price for households should increase by 6pct on average in the fourth quarter.
