Deputy Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies Florin Iordache of the Social Democratic Party (PSD) considers that the protesters who on Sunday publicly aired their dissatisfaction with a bill amending justice legislation either were misinformed or did not know about the laws.

"From my point of view, we have just transposed into law the demands of the protesters. Either there is a lot of misinformation, or those who protest do not know the laws, because the two problems they protested over: the appointment and dismissal of prosecutors - we have specified that the President is the one to affix the last signature; as far as the Judiciary Inspection is concerned - we have provided for an independent institution. So, let's look at the laws if we protest," he said at Parliament House on Monday.

Protests against the bill amending justice legislations and against the politicians in the ruling coalition took place on Sunday in Bucharest and around the country. In Bucharest, about 15,000 people, according to the Gendarmerie, marched along Victoriei Square - Romana Square - Universitatii Square - Unirii Square - Constitutiei Square. Approximately 13,000 people protested in Timisoara, Cluj-Napoca, Sibiu, Iasi and Brasov.
