Princess Margareta on Wednesday said that she will respect the king's oath and, with emotion and honor, with a sense of duty, as a good Romanian and Crown Custodian, she will devote her life and work to the Romanian nation and to Romanians everywhere.
"As I was named to follow the good King Mihai, who left me as a sacred inheritance his love and faith in Romania, I will continue his work and I will respect his oath. In my efforts for the development and consolidation of the country, I will follow the example of our father and his faith in the fate of the Romanian people. I am deeply grateful to the previous four generations of my family, which crated the sacred connection between the country and the Royal House," mentioned the Proclamation of the Romanian Crown Custodian sent to Agerpres on Wednesday.
According to Princess Margareta, the four generations represented 150 years during which Romania created its modern institutions, and saw its development, consolidation and openness to the world. "In his long life, the 4th king of Romania relied on his faith, with hope and patience. In all contexts, he answered with correctitude and, when possible, with forgiveness. I am certain that, in the future, Romanians will continue to love the Crown, united in conscience and action, for the national, in the context of the European Union and the North-Atlantic Alliance. With emotion and honor, with a sense of duty, as a good Romanian and Crown Custodian, I will devote my life and work to Romanians everywhere. So God help us!" said the Proclamation.
