Former Prime Minister Dacian Ciolos on Sunday announced at a meeting of the Romanian 100 Platform community that the structure will give birth to a political party to be presented in the following months, which party will not act against those 'with the same DNA" and will remain open to anyone sharing the same values at its foundation.

"The Romania 100 Platform will give birth to a political party (...) No doubt about it. This is already established and, at least we, the ones who created the Romania 100 Platform in the first place, are determined to do it (...). It must be a natural process. (...) Yes, the Romanian 100 Platform will give birth to a political party, which needs to be built on a strong foundation, principles, ideas and values and, more than that, it needs a vision, programmes and projects. It is important to show people not just a vision, but also an ideology, we need to show what the ideology actually means and on which values it is built, on which principles, ethics, morals," said Ciolos.

He also showed that creating a political party is not an objective in itself of the Romanian 100 Platform. The former Prime Minister underscored that such a project needs to be the result of "an actual involvement."

"Our objective is to trigger a change, a process, a natural change that is determined by the people's will, the will of those who are ready to bring their contribution to this change. It is important that this change is not made with people waiting on the sidelines, with just a hand - three, five, seven, ten, fifteen, or a entire political party or civic movement - to act, to play on the field," said Ciolos.

He also gave an answer to those saying that such an initiative would cause the split of the opposition.

"We are taking this into consideration too, but it seems rather like a responsibility for us, those who created the platform, to also build a political party from it, which will not act against those sharing the same ideas, values and principles with us (...) who have the same DNA. We will have no intention to fight against those with whom we could actually collaborate in the next interval," said Ciolos.
