Former Prime Minister Dacian Ciolos, the leader of the National Liberal Party (PNL), Ludovic Orban, and the leader of the Save Romania Union (USR), Dan Barna, alongside the representatives of several NGOs and civic association on Sunday afternoon had a meeting to discuss protesting against modification of justice laws, official sources told agerpres.

The meeting took place at 16:30 EET.

Protest rallies against the modification of justice laws were announced in Bucharest and several other cities across the country on Sunday evening.

On the other hand, the former Dacian Ciolos told a meeting of the Romania 100 platform community that this structure is going to give birth to a political party to be presented in the following months, which party will not act against those 'with the same DNA" and will remain open to anyone sharing the same values at its foundation.

"The Romania 100 Platform will give birth to a political party (...) No doubt about it. This is already established and, at least we, the ones who created the Romania 100 Platform in the first place, are determined to do it (...). It must be a natural process. (...) Yes, the Romanian 100 Platform will give birth to a political party, which needs to be built on a strong foundation, principles, ideas and values and, more than that, it needs a vision, programmes and projects. It is important to show people not just a vision, but also an ideology, we need to show what the ideology actually means and on which values it is built, on which principles, ethics, morals," said Ciolos.
