Romanian-Dutch duo Horia Tecau/Jean-Julien Rojer qualified on Tuesday for the men's doubles semifinal of the ATP tournament in Sydney, with prizes worth 468,910 US dollars, after defeating Columbian pairing Juan Sebastian Cabal/Robert Farah, with a score of 6-3, 7-6 (4).

Tecau and Rojer, seeded 2nd, managed to win the event after one hour and 20 minutes.

Tecau and his partner have 4-1 in direct matches against the Columbians, whom they defeated in 2015 in the round of sixteen in Miami, in 2017 in the final in Geneva and in the round of sixteen in Shanghai. The only victory of Cabal and Farah dates back to 2014, in the round of sixteen in Shanghai. It's worth mentioning that all the matches so far have been decided in the super tiebreak.

Horia Tecau and Jean-Julien Rojer, finalists in Sydney in 2015, secured a cheque worth 7,240 US dollars and 90 ATP points, and in the semifinal they are to face off the pair made up of Jan-Lennard Struff (Germany)/Viktor Troicki (Serbia).
