The Alliance of Liberals and Democrats (ALDE) Chairman Calin Popescu-Tariceanu announced on Monday that the governing programme will not undergo major amendments, highlighting that the Executive's structure will remain the same. "I presented succinctly the discussions held with the ruling partners - PSD [Social Democratic Party, major at rule - ed.n.]'s leadership - and essentially what I communicated to my colleagues is that there won't be any major changes, not in-depth, nor in scope of the governing programme. Together with PSD we agreed upon mostly reviewing the important topics, the crucial commitments that we made and that we wish to see transposed into legislation and effective measures to be adopted. We will not take fiscal measures," Tariceanu stated after ALDE's Central Political Bureau's meeting.

According to him, the essential amendments in the economic domain were already made in 2017 and specified that the global income tax, announced at the beginning of the governance will continue to be part of the programme but did not give a dead-line for its introduction and affirmed that "the Finance Ministry must carry out ample and extensive preparation."

' Moreover, he mentioned that no new taxes and duties will be introduced.

In reference to the Cabinet's setup, Tariceanu said "the Government's structure will remain the same." "On Friday, at the same time with PSD we will establish the position nominations," Tariceanu said, pointing out that "in principle" ALDE will keep the same positions, but he has not had any talks yet with the PSD colleagues on this issue.
