President Klaus Iohannis told young magistrates on Tuesday that they chose to practice their profession "at a time when the act of justice is publicly questioned precisely by those who are called to answer before the law."
"You have chosen a job that, perhaps more than any other, is closely linked to the democratic path of the state," he said in a speech at the Cotroceni Palace.
The head of state received, at the Cotroceni Palace, the graduates of the National Institute of Magistracy. The event was attended, among others, by the minister of justice, the president of the Constitutional Court of Romania, Romania's prosecutor general, the head of the Supreme Council of Magistracy and the head of the High Court of Cassation and Justice.
