The Central Depository concluded a collaboration protocol with the National Center for the Administration of the National Notarial Registers, through which public notaries will be able to obtain bank statements certifying the holdings of financial instruments of deceased people, evidenced in the individual accounts, reads a press release sent to AGERPRES on Tuesday.

"These documents are necessary for debating successions, for including in the chart of heirs the financial instruments evidenced in the deceased account holders, so as to mention the latter in the certificates of succession," the document of the Central Depository shows.

Thus, people who have the heir quality will be exempt from carrying out additional demarches so as to enter possession of all documents necessary to the debate of the succession, for including in the chart of heirs alongside the other title deeds those of the financial instruments owned by the deceased.

"This partnership is an important step in streamlining the transfer operations of all title deeds in succession cases. The process will be easier and it thus ensures the possibility of carrying out the swift transfer of financial instruments," Silvia Buicanescu, Director General of Central Depository stated.

The Central Depository records direct transfers on financial instruments, from the account of a deceased person to the accounts of heirs mentioned in the certificate of succession. In recording these types of direct transfers, the financial instruments mentioned in the chart of heirs are envisaged, just as they are evidenced in the certificate of succession.
