Six trains temporarily suspended as falling bridge brings traffic at Ploiesti West Station to a halt

Railway traffic through the Ploiesti West Station was suspended on Wednesday morning as a metal bridge through which a water pipeline was running fell at 08:30hrs, local, stopping six passenger trains in their track temporarily, according to the CFR SA, the national railway corporation.

"Following the collapse of the bridge over 5 lines at the railway station in Ploiesti West the overhead wires feeding electricity to the train engines got destroyed."

According to CFR, six passenger trains were temporarily stopped: 16032 (Brasov-Bucharest) - stopping at Ploiesti West; 15124 (Slanic - Ploiesti West) - stopping at Ploiesti West; 1644 (Baia Mare - Bucharest Nord)- stopping at Buda; 15531 (Bucharest - Brasov) - stopping in the entryway to Ploiesti West; 1631 (Brasov-Bucharest) - stopping at Ploiesti West, and 3001 (Bucharest - Brasov) - stopping at Brazi.

"Officials of CFR SA and those of the railway passenger transport operators are currently analysing the optimal solutions for the continuation of the railway traffic at the Ploiesti West railway station," CFR said.
