The "Romania: Evolution" photo exhibition that was put together by the Agerpres National News Agency is opened until 14 August at the Romanian Cultural Institute (ICR) in Beijing.

The opening took place last week, in the Exhibition Hall of the Romanian Cultural Institute in Beijing, after the screening of the AGERPRES documentary called the "Greater Union - Romania at 100" in the Library Hall of the Institution, which became overcrowded by the dozens of participants interested in Romania.

Among the attendees to the event there were Director of the ICR Beijing Constantin Lupeanu, civil service clerk on relations with the ICR Beijing Antonina Dragne - Ciuceanu, AGERPRES journalist Marilena Stanescu, who is one of the filmmakers of the documentary, renowned Chinese calligrapher and painter Zhang Wenxiang, businessman Florin Chen, who lived for several years in Romania. Moreover, also attending the event were head of the China-Romania Friendship Association Wang Tieshan and author of the last edition of the Chinese-Romanian dictionary Dong Yuan.

The "Romania: Evolution" photo exhibition includes 40 photographs from the AGERPRES Photographic Archive, the best images taken over the past few years by the National News Agency's photojournalists, as well as images from the Associated Press Agency, depicting Romanian personalities. The photos of AGERPRES' archive reflect the cultural - artistic, economic, political and sports life of Romania, as well as the great transformations and events that have taken place over time.

The exhibition will be resumed in autumn, in Beijing, Hangzhou and other localities of China.

The "Greater Union - Romania at 100" documentary represents an X-ray of some events that happened in Romania's past.

The event was organised by the ICR in Beijing in partnership with the AGERPRES National News Agency on the occasion of the Greater Union Centennial.
