Romania is a state with a pro-European society, and the EU's future is a national interest topic, Prime Minister Viorica Dancila said on Tuesday.
"Romania can fulfill a European role that matches its real share and potential within the Union. It is about participating in an advanced European process, based on the fundamental idea of European cohesion and unity. Romania is a state with a pro-European society. The future of the European Union is a national interest topic for us, and that is why we commit ourselves to it wholeheartedly," Dancila told Bucharest Forum 2018, organised by the Aspen Romania Foundation.
According to the head of the Executive, Romania's taking over the Presidency of the Council of the European Union favourably falls within "the maturity age of our European scope."
"We will invest our experience in consistent priorities to the citizen's benefit," Viorica Dancila further said.
