UTCN launches Tech EMBA major in partnership with Hull University of UK

The Technical University of Cluj Napoca (UTCN) is about to launch the Tech EMBA major, for all those interested or operating in the IT and technology field, in partnership with the Hull University from the UK.

The new curricula will include courses of infrastructure management, cyber security, software management and innovation, reads a release sent to AGERPRES on Monday.

"The new major, Tech EMBA, is meant to cover the needs of the digital economy as an essential source of economic growth and transformation of an increasingly larger area of the economy in Transylvania and Romania. The new structure of the EMBA programme, with 2 majors, General and Tech, will offer both specialized knowledge in the two areas and also a necessary common base meant to develop critical and strategic thinking to the use of both majors," the head of the EMBA programme in Cluj Napoca, PhD Andrew Taylor, said in the release.

In their turn, the UTCN representatives underscored that, nowadays, any economic field relies on Information Technology, wherefrom the need for a high quality education in information technology and management fields.

"Thus, the new major, Tech EMBA, initiated through a joint effort of the Hull University and the Technical University of Cluj Napoca is perfect in covering this need," said Daniela Popescu, UTCN pro-rector, in charge with the University Management and the Relation with the Socio-Economic Environment field.

The EMBA programme is internationally accredited by the The Association of MBAs and The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. The courses will take 2 years to complete and will be held by international professors from the Hull University. The graduation diploma of EMBA Hull University, which will be received after completing the 2 years, is internationally recognized.
