Unemployment rate in Romania slightly up to 4 pct, in October

Romania's unemployment rate has reached 4 per cent in October, slightly increasing from the previous month by 0.1 per cent, according to data released by the National Institute of Statistics (INS) on Thursday.

In this context, the number of unemployed (aged between 15 and 74) estimated for October 2018 accounted for 370,000 persons, growing from the previous month's 355,000, but going down from October 2017, when there were recorded 434,000 unemployed persons.

By gender, the unemployment rate in men exceeded the figure for women by 1.4 percentage points, namely 4.6 per cent for men and 3.2 per cent for women.

The unemployment rate for adults (aged 25-74) was estimated at 3.2 per cent in October this year, 3.8 per cent for men and 2.3 per cent for women.

The number of unemployed aged 25-74 represented 72.9 per cent of the total number of unemployed estimated for October.
