Prime Minister Viorica Dancila declared on Tuesday evening that the budget for 2019 will contain the necessary resources for the payment of pensions and wages in the public sector.

"We have the necessary budget resources to pay pensions and wages in the public sector in 2019, just as we committed in the governing program. The draft budget for next year will reflect in ensuring the necessary money for the increased payment of pensions and wages in the public sector, increasing the minimum wage, just as we committed to the Romanians. For 2019, again, we are considering increasing the pension point, as of September 1, by 15 percent, so that the new value of the pension point will be 1,265 lei. We have money for all that we promised to do in 2019," Dancila said, in a phone intervention for the private TV broadcaster Romania TV.

She highlighted that the budget will also comprise the money to be allocated for investment.

"If someone were to look at the way investment have evolved in Romania, they will be able to see that this is a priority to us. Next year we will have the money for investment and there will be investment in Romania, so that we can achieve in this sector many good and positive aspects," Dancila stressed.
