Senate President Calin Popescu-Tariceanu said on Tuesday that talks on the draft state budget for the next year have begun, but mentioned he has not managed to look at all aspects of the draft, all its dimensions so as to get "a clearer idea of the main ideas."
"We started the talks yesterday and we will continue, but right now I cannot tell you, we did not really get the chance to look at the draft budget in all its aspects, in all its dimensions, and, once we have a more precise, clearer idea about the main budget ideas, I would like to discuss with the Finance Minister to see what its philosophy is, how it is conceived, what its goals are, what the main reasons followed by the budget are, then I can comment more," Tariceanu said after the sitting of the reunited Standing Bureaus of the two Chambers of Parliament.
Asked whether it is plausible that the draft be lodged in Parliament by the end of the week, as the discussions are underway, Tariceanu replied: "It is plausible."
