The volume of construction works decreased by 4.1 percent in unadjusted terms and by 2.6 percent as adjusted for working days and seasonality in the first eleven months of 2018 as compared to the same period in 2017, according to data released by the National Institute of Statistics (INS) on Tuesday.
The drop, as gross series, was reflected in new construction works (-8.5 percent). Increases were recorded in maintenance and current repairs works (+7.6 percent) and capital repairs works (+2.6 percent).
By construction objects, the volume of construction works declined in residential buildings by 29.1 percent and in non-residential buildings by 3.2 percent. Increases were recorded in engineering works(+10.1 percent).
As adjusted for working days and seasonality, the volume of construction works overall went down in new construction works by 6.3 percent, an increase apparent in maintenance and current repair works by 7.1 percent and in capital repairs works by 3.7 percent.

By construction objects, the volume of construction works declined in residential buildings by 27.7 percent and in non-residential buildings by 0.7 percent. Increases were recorded in engineering works(+11.4 percent).
