Romania's participation in Expo 2020 Dubai comes with a very good opportunity to raise our country's profile at the international level and to strengthen Romania's cooperation with the United Arab Emirates in areas of mutual interest: economy, trade, culture education, tourism, Commissioner General of the Romanian ... General of Romanian Section for 2020 World Exhibition Dubai Ferdinand Nagy said on Friday evening at the inauguration ceremony of the Romanian National Pavilion at the Universal Exhibition.

"Our pavilion is designed around the concept of new nature. The theme is in line with the principles of Expo 2020: the partnership for prosperity and an essential engine for innovation, the importance of improving connections between people, goods and ideas, ensuring easier access to markets, knowledge and innovation, the role of natural habitats and individual and community welfare," the Romanian official said.

For Romania, this world exhibition represents a great chance to interact with people from all over the world and to be able to show them our traditions, culture and wonderful landscapes, as well as creativity and innovation that make life better and contribute to better societies, Secretary of State for Inter-Institutional Affairs within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MAE), Daniela Gitman, also declared in her opening speech, Agerpres.ro informs.

Jai-chul Choi, President of the General Assembly of the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE), congratulated the Romanian team, stressing that Romania is not only one of the 192 participating countries, but more than that, because Romania has a tradition in living in harmony with nature, in living in harmony with people, in living in peace with the other countries. This is the reason why the Romanian pavilion has the pillar of stability.

Expo 2020 Dubai, originally scheduled to open last year but postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic, opened to the public on Friday under the slogan "Connecting Minds and Creating the Future". It is the first world exhibition in the Middle East and the largest global event since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic.
