Deputy Alexandru Muraru, special representative of the Government for promoting memory policies, combating anti-Semitism and xenophobia, announced on Wednesday that he officially notified the General Prosecutor's Office and the Police following the use of Nazi symbols during Tuesday's protests at the Palace of Parliament.

He says such acts of vandalism cannot go unpunished, which is why, as a special representative of the Government for promoting memory policies, combating xenophobia and anti-Semitism, he notified the criminal investigation bodies, namely the Romanian Police and the General Prosecutor.

"The competent institutions must be firm and work urgently for the investigation and sanctioning of such antisocial and illegal acts, which cause serious damage to the image of the Romanian state," underlines Alexandru Muraru, Agerpres informs.
