717 new cases of COVID-19, in 34,013 tests performed in the last 24 hours

A number of 717 new cases of people infected with SARS-CoV-2 have been registered in the last 24 hours, with 34,013 tests performed, the Strategic Communication Group (GCS) reported on Friday.

Of the 717 new cases, 27 were from re-infected patients, who tested positive for more than 180 days after the first infection.

As of Friday, 1,801,798 cases of infection with the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) had been registered in Romania, of which 10,842 were from re-infected patients, tested positive for more than 180 days after the first infection.

According to the GCS, 1,730,994 patients were declared cured.

At the national level, 10,987,298 RT-PCR tests and 5,884,185 rapid antigen tests were processed.

In the last 24 hours, 9,135 RT-PCR tests were performed (3,824 based on the case definition and medical protocol and 5,311 on request) and 24,878 rapid antigen tests.

Apart from the newly confirmed cases, following the retesting of patients who were already positive, 123 people were reconfirmed positively with COVID-19.AGERPRES
