Alba County: Hundreds of households without electrical current due to blizzard

Nearly 300 consumers from a commune in the Apuseni Mountains, area under Code Orange for weather, do not have access to electrical energy due to outages caused by the blizzard and heavy snowfall, informs, on Monday evening, the Alba County Prefect's Office.

According to the quoted source, in the Poiana Vadului area, following damage received by 16 transformation stations, 773 end-users were left without electrical energy. "Two teams are present in the field to remedy the damage, at this time 290 users being still affected," mentioned the Prefect's Office.

Another malfunction, taking place in Abrud, affected nearly 2,000 users. "Maneuvers to isolate the malfunction were finalized and thus, service was resumed for consumers in this area," mentioned the quoted source.

The representatives of the Prefect's Office have also shown that road traffic is taking place in winter conditions on DN 67C - Transalpina, as well as on roads DN 74, DN 74A and DN 75.

"Given that at this time a Code Orange for weather phenomena is in effect- powerful intensifications of the wind, blizzard and very poor visibility, for the mountainous areas of Alba County, the DRDP Cluj - The Alba National Roads Department are acting with all available equipment on DN 67C - Transalpina, DN 74, DN 74A and DN 75, in order to clear snow from these road sectors. Traffic is taking place in winter conditions. (...) Depending on the developments of the situation, all institutions that have a role in emergency crisis management generated by weather phenomena are ready to intervene as shortly as possible," the quoted source also mentioned.
