Access to the workplace on condition of anti-COVID-19 vaccination with the consequence of suspending the work contract, is unconstitutional, Ombudsman, Renate Weber, reiterated on Wednesday.

"If testing were imposed, in order for this to take place there is an entire discussion regarding how much it should be supported by the state and why it should not be supported by the employee. (...) I do not know if at this moment it is still up to date, because the last variant is spreading extremely fast, a lot of people have tested positive, they are on sick leave, and we are seriously asking ourselves how will there be any funds for the payment of all these medical leaves, if, just as doctors said and minister Rafila said, at some point nearly all of us will be infected. (...) I believe that some measures will be taken by epidemiological experts, but also by the political decision-makers, how this virus variant will be managed later on and how we are preparing to get out of this pandemic," Renate Weber declared, on Wednesday, during a press conference.
