First six reform coordinating ministries may submit projects for recovery, resilience funds as of today

Prime Minister Nicolae Ciuca said on Tuesday that from March 8 the first six ministries coordinating reforms and investment in Romania may submit projects and access funds under the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR).

Ciuca on Tuesday attended a signing ceremony of financing agreements between the Ministry of European Investment and Projects (MIPE), and six ministries coordinating reforms related to PNRR: the Ministry of Labour and Social Solidarity; the Ministry of Energy; the Ministry of Health; the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure; the Ministry of Family, Youth and Equal Opportunities, and the Ministry of the Environment, Waters and Forestry.

"The first activity consisting of signing financing agreements between the Ministry of European Investment and Projects and six other ministries took place today at the government headquarters. Underway as we speak is the reform and investment coordinating ministries being able to submit projects. They will be able to access the money that has been allocated to us under the National Recovery and Resilience Plan," Ciuca said on Tuesday at the Government House.

He added that currently, four billion euros under PNRR are in the country, and another six billion euros will come by the end of the year.

Ciuca added that there are 110 billion lei in the MIPE budget.

He further underscored the importance of starting the process of accessing PNRR funds.
