Romania is concerned about the humanitarian aspect of the crisis, but also about the efficient management of financial resources to meet the growing financing needs at a very difficult time for the whole of Europe, Romanian Finance Minister Adrian Caciu said during talks with a World Bank delegation on Wednesday.

"The government intends to support the public and the business community with a mix of measures that match those at the beginning of the pandemic, financed both from the national budget and from European funds. Although the situation is complicated, we do not give up the concept of Romania's development, but we are enlarging the financial framework for supporting the economy," said Caciu, Agerpres.ro informs.

In her turn, World Bank's Country Director for the European Union (EU) Gallina Vincelette presented potential areas of intervention in support of the countries affected by the inflow of refugees and reaffirmed the World Bank's readiness provide Romania with the bank's expertise in managing social and humanitarian issues.
