The general secretary of National Liberal Party (PNL), Dan Vilceanu, declared on Friday that he did not receive official documents for convening a meeting of the National Political Bureau or the Executive Bureau of the party.

"I do not have any request to convene a Standing National Bureau today or an Executive Bureau meeting," Vilceanu said at the PNL headquarters.

He added that if he received the necessary documents, he would convene such a meeting.

Last year, according to him, there was a statutory procedure and a congress was held in which the PNL leadership was elected.

Vilceanu specified that, in Thursday night's discussion, PNL leaders asked Florin Citu to resign from the position of party's chairman.

"Yes, I told you, I had a discussion in which he was asked to do so, otherwise a procedure will be started that I did not see, there is no document. (...) The PNL chairman said 'Okay, people have heard your side of the truth, they need to hear my side of the truth, too. He asked for an explanation and one of the dissatisfactions was that the 'Anghel Saligny' program had not been started, for example, which the PNL head could not manage, because that program is at the Government. The Ministry of Development and the Prime Minister are in charge with the 'Anghel Saligny' program and not any party," he said.

"I can also ask for the public dismissal of any other colleague, this does not mean that that colleague has to resign," Vilceanu also declared.
