A 53-year-old Iranian tourist who got lost on the Bucegi Plateau on Monday was found by mountain rescuers after almost 12 hours of search; he was hypothermic and needed medical care, the Busteni Mountain Rescue Team wrote on Tuesday on Facebook. The man received the necessary care and was then transported to the Salvamont Base where he spent the rest of the night, told Agerpres.

"15 mountain rescuers from Busteni, Prahova and Dambovita have been scouring the area since 16:30 for a tourist who got lost on the Bucegi Plateau. The 53-year-old Iranian man rode the cable car to the roughly 2,400m mountain top in the morning and started walking around randomly because he didn't know the place and had no target to reach. Somewhere he slipped on the snow, hit his head and remained unconscious. When he woke up it was almost dark and he didn't know where he was. He called a friend and told him everything. The friend raised the alarm," the Busteni Mountain Rescue Service announced on Monday evening.
