INSP: 96,996 acute respiratory infections registered between 14-20 November

The National Center for Surveillance and Control of Communicable Diseases (CNSCBT) within the National Institute of Public Health (INSP) informed on Friday that 96,996 cases of acute respiratory infections were reported at the national level between 14 and 20 November - clinical flu, upper respiratory infections and pneumonias, told Agerpres.

A number of 45,180 cases have been registered in the same period of 2021.

According to the INSP, only one case of flu was confirmed with the non-subtyped influenza A virus.

Since the beginning of the season, 15 laboratory-confirmed cases of influenza have been reported: 8 cases with non-subtyped influenza A virus, 5 cases of AH3 influenza, 2 cases of AH1 influenza.

In the period of reference, 430 cases of clinical influenza were reported at national level, compared to 251 cases recorded in the previous week and 87 cases recorded in the same period of last year.

A number of 1,270,550 people from risk groups were vaccinated against influenza until 30 October with vaccine distributed free of charge by the Ministry of Health.
