Bucharest Stock Exchange closes high on Tuesday

The Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB) closed Tuesday's trading session with almost all indices in the green and 44.084 million RON (8.973 million euros) worth of transactions.

The main BET index, which tracks the most liquid 20 companies, rose 1.54 percent to 12,306.27 points, and the BET-Plus index which shows the evolution of the top liquid 37 shares gained 1.57 percent.

The extended blue-chip index BET-XT of the top-liquid 25 issuers closed 1.54 percent higher, while the return benchmark index for stock investment funds BET-BK gained 0.86 percent.

The BET-FI index of the five financial investment companies inched up 0.50 percent, while the sectoral energy and related utilities index BET-NG rose 1.31 percent.

The BET AeRO index of the 20 representative companies on the AeRO market dipped 0.45 percent.

The most traded stocks on the Regulated Market were Fondul Proprietatea with 10.01 million RON worth of trading, followed by Transylvania Bank which generated trades worth 9.94 million RON, and OMV Petrom with 8.95 million RON.

According to BVB, the best performing issuers were Armatura (+14.29 percent), Condmag (+8.33 percent), and the Orsova Shipyard (+5.45 percent).

Conversely, the issuers on a significant downward trend were Prebet SA (-4.08 percent), Farmaceutica Remedia (-3.82 percent), and Rompetrol Well Services (-2.69 percent). AGERPRES
