New books by Mircea Cartarescu, Gabriel Liiceanu, Horia Roman-Patapievici to be launched at Gaudeamus Book Fair

The 29th edition of the Gaudeamus Book Fair is about to kick off, after a two-year break, with presentations of the newest works by Mircea Cartarescu, Gabriel Liiceanu, Horia Roman-Patapievici and Michel Houellebecq, but also children books, albums or magazines, various events - from book launches to recitals, contests or award ceremonies - in its programme, told Agerpres.

The official inauguration of this year's edition, which will be open from Wednesday to Sunday, in Pavilion B2 of the Romexpo Exhibition Complex, will take place on Wednesday, as of 12.00 pm.

This year, poet Ana Blandiana is the honorary president of the book fair.

At Gaudeamus, almost 7,900 square metres of stands and event spaces will fully occupy the largest exhibition pavilion in the country, with around 200 participants to offer the public an extremely varied range of publishing products, on different supports, suitable for all ages and fields of interest, music and educational games.

The 200 participants announced more than 600 events.

A cultural project financed by the Ministry of Culture, the fair will be open daily, between 10.00 am and 8.00 pm, and access to all public categories will be free.
