Number of passengers at 'Stefan cel Mare' Airport in Suceava increases 70 pct against 2021

The number of passengers at the "Stefan cel Mare" Airport increased this year by 70pct, compared to 2021, reaching 715,405 from 729 flights, President of the Suceava County Council (CJ) Gheorghe Flutur told a news conference, on Thursday.

He showed that it is estimated for the number of passengers who are to be processed at the "Stefan cel Mare" Airport by the end of this year to reach approximately 800,000, told Agerpres.

The President of the Suceava CJ emphasized that 18-20pct of the total number of passengers this year were citizens of Ukraine.

Furthermore, he said that, under the conditions of a significant increase in the number of passengers, the Suceava CJ and the "Stefan cel Mare" Airport will continue development investments, with project worth 13 million EUR already being implemented, in order to increase the degree of safety and security.

He mentioned that, at the same time, work is being done on terminal 2, which could be completed in the spring of next year, and the construction of a third passenger terminal and a cargo terminal are also taken into account, as well as the arrangement of 200 more parking lots.
