Navy sailors, divers in Constanta to participate in ceremonies occasion by Epiphany

Navy sailors and divers will participate on January 6, in the ceremonies occasioned by Epiphany, which are organized in the city of Constanta by the Archdiocese of Tomis, the General Staff of the Romanian Naval Forces informs on Thursday.

The navy sailors will be part of the Guard of Honour formed to cover the route between the cathedral and the Tomis tourist port, in a procession, told Agerpres.

"The Romanian Naval Forces participate on Friday, January 6, as of 10.30 am, in Constanta, in the religious ceremonies occasioned marking the Baptism of the Lord. The navy sailors, together with the Military Music of the Naval Forces, will be present in front of the Cathedral of Saints Peter and Paul and they will be part of the Guard of Honour established to cover the route between the cathedral and the Tomis Tourist Port, together with the council of priests, the water chariots and the believers participating in the religious procession," it is shown in a press release sent to AGERPRES by the Romanian Naval Forces.

Ten professional swimmers will take part in the recovery of the crosses thrown into the sea by the archbishop of Tomis, His Beatitude Teodosie.

"At the water consecration service, the Diving Centre will participate with six insurance divers, ten professional swimmers and two "Bombard" type boats with two divers on board each, who will take part in the recovery of the three crosses thrown into the water by Archbishop of Tomis. At the same time, a first aid crew will be present at the ceremonies, to ensure the interventions in the possible emergency situations," the same press release states.

According to the same source, other categories of troops belonging to the Romanian Army and representatives of the local public authorities from the Constanta garrison will also attend the Epiphany service.
