The Ministry of Finance attracted on Friday 75 million lei from banks, in addition to Thursday's auction, when it borrowed 566 million lei, at an interest rate of 6.74% per annum, through a benchmark government bond issue with a residual maturity of 82 months.

The nominal value of the additional issue was 75 million lei, and banks submitted offers of 75 million lei.

The Ministry of Finance (MF) has planned to borrow from commercial banks in July 2023 an amount of 4 billion lei, to which 600 million lei can be added through additional non-competitive bidding sessions related to bond auctions.

The total amount of 4.6 billion lei is 1.88 billion lei less than the 6.48 billion lei programmed in June and will be used to refinance public debt and finance the state budget deficit.
