Border Police: Over 180k people cross border into Romania, including 17,000 Ukrainians

The General Inspectorate of the Border Police (IGPR) informs that, on Friday, 179,900 people, including 17.333 Ukrainian citizens, entered Romania through the border crossing points.

According to a press release sent to AGERPRES on Friday, approximately 340,100 people, Romanian and foreign citizens, with more than 85,500 means of transport, went through the control formalities at the border crossing points throughout the country, both on their way in and on their way out, Agerpres informs.

As of February 10, 2022 (pre-conflict period), 5,152,043 Ukrainian citizens entered Romania.

In their areas of relevance, the crossing points and the "green border", the police found 75 illegal acts (32 crimes and 43 misdemeanors) committed by both Romanian and foreign citizens, and the value of the fines applied amounted to approximately RON 25,100.

Assets worth approximately RON 3,486,800 were seized.

On Thursday, 13 foreign citizens who did not meet the conditions provided for by law were not allowed to enter the country and 12 Romanian citizens were not allowed to leave for various legal reasons.
