Almost 177,767 travelers, including over 17,000 Ukrainians, enter Romania in last 24 hrs

Approximately 391,100 people, Romanian and foreign nationals, and over 97,950 means of transport underwent border checks at all of Romania's crossing points in the last 24 hours, on both the inbound and the outbound, the General Border Police Inspectorate (IGPF) reports on Tuesday.

As many as 177,767 travelers of whom 17,324 Ukrainian nationals entered Romania on August 14, the IGPF said.

The number of Ukrainians who crossed into Romania since the pre-war date of February 10 is 5,571,304, agerpres reports.

As part of the specific activities at crossing points and the green border, the border police found 73 illegal acts (30 crimes and 43 misdemeanors) committed by both Romanian and foreign citizens. The value of the seized undeclared goods amounts to approximately RON 494,400.

Fines worth roughly RON 39,700 were also issued.

As many as 18 foreign citizens who did not meet the legal requirements were denied entry to the country, and 19 Romanian citizens were also not allowed to leave the country for various legal reasons.
