The Liberals will continue to attract right-wing forces, National Liberal Party (PNL) secretary general Lucian Bode told Liberal women in Eforie Nord on Friday, recalling the merger by absorption of the PNL with the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats (ALDE) party.

"The right-wing in Romania means PNL. We also have arguments: the PNL has always, by being in office, taken the modernisation of the state to a new stage, assumed responsibilities and even a coalition with the social democrats for the balance and stability of the country in times of great crisis and difficulty. The right-wing is where political maturity is needed, where courage and the assumption of responsibility are so necessary in very, very difficult times. We have a duty and a responsibility to communicate these issues much better and to overcome prejudices and reluctance, precisely in order to gather as many right-wing forces as possible around the PNL," said Bode, agerpres reports.

Lucian Bode added that rhetoric is not enough to win the trust of the electorate, concrete actions are needed. He also said that the future of the party will depend on the score the PNL will get in the next elections.
